LimeWire is
readily available, can be used for free and is easy to use.
There's loads of P2P software available (see the 'What Software
Do I Need' section), and although I'm going to explain LimeWire
they all work in much the same way.
Once you have
downloaded and installed the software, click on the LimeWire icon
on your desktop, and you will get to the main screen.

First, lets
choose the type of search we would like to make, you can do this
by selecting one of the buttons near the top left of the screen.
Your choices are All Types, Audio, Images, Video, Documents and
Programs. There all pretty self explanatory, so make your choice
by pressing the appropriate button which will then be highlighted
in yellow.
We're going to
do a simple search. So lets look for an Image file of Coldplay,
firstly choose the image button and then in the Images Title box
type what you are looking for. In our case we're going to type
'Coldplay' and then click on the 'search' button. After a short
delay you will see the files begin to be listed in the right hand
pane, choose what you would like to download by clicking once on
the file and then click the large green 'download arrow' near the
centre of the screen.

You can of
course choose to download more than one file at a time, and you
can see their progress using the blue progress bars at the bottom
of the screen. To view your file you can simply double click it
once it has finished downloading, alternatively you can navigate
to your shared folder to see every file you download from
LimeWire.
The default
location for your shared folder is: C/Documents_and_Settings/Owner/Shared
Have a play
around with the software and you will soon get the hang of it, but
be warned if you choose to download copyrighted material you are
breaking the law!
Have Fun!
