CloneDVD is a very easy to use and reliable application for copying both entire DVD disks or just the main feature.  Here is a simple step by step guide to copying a DVD while removing all of the extra content, such as directors commentaries and menus.

Firstly double click the icon on your desktop to open the software.  You will then see the main screen which gives you the following options:

Copy DVD Titles - use this to copy the main feature from a DVD, removing any extra content

Clone DVD - use this to copy the entire content of the disk

Write Existing Data - this is useful as some movies downloaded from the internet are in the form of a disk image (ISO or UDF files).

Choose 'Copy DVD Titles'

and you will get to this screen.  In the 'DVD Video Files:' box, choose the drive that contains your original DVD, then click on the Video_TS folder and click 'OK'.

If your DVD is encrypted as most commercial DVDs are, the application will refuse to copy it and display the following message:

to remove the encryption use AnyDVD - see my software page

Providing your DVD is not encrypted CloneDVD will start to play through the film.  There is no need to do anything else at this point except click next.

The next screen looks like the one below and unless you want to change any audio preferences or include subtitles you can simply click next.

Once again just click next:

CloneDVD will now start reading the files from the DVD, this may take some time depending upon your particular computer but be patient.  Once it has finished preparing all of the files you will be prompted to put a blank DVD in the drive.  CloneDVD will then write to the disk and your movie will be complete.

Enjoy
